The Montessori pedagogy is based on the observations and discoveries of Maria Montessori, an Italian physician and pedagogue (1870-1952).

After observing children closely and without adult intervention for long hours, she discovered that if children evolve in a specially adapted environment, they can contribute to their own development, are more concentrated, have better self-control and are all equipped with universal capacities to grow and to acquire knowledge.

We know today that she was a visionary.
